It is with great sadness that we inform you that the founder of Scamps in Teddington, Diane John, has passed away peacefully on 1st February 2019.
Diane was one of the original people who started Scamps at
Stanley School in 1990. In 1991 Diane and Scamps moved into the then Teddington
Youth Centre which is still the current site.
Diane was a very talented artist who shared this love with
the children for many years creating wonderful creative opportunities in our
art room. She was a great character: straight talking, funny, but
mostly a very caring person who was a great friend to so many staff, parents
and children over the years.
Diane cared so much about the children that she carried on
working at Scamps well after her retirement and was regularly to be seen
cycling around collecting anything she thought the children would find useful
We pay tribute to her hard work, compassion and friendship.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with her family at
this sad time.
Scamps are non-profit making, run entirely for the benefit of our members - so all income after expenses is used to provide the best possible service to you and your family. All parents who use Scamps are members.
Scamps were one of the first after-school care providers in this area, and have provided first class childcare for over two decades. We are now seeing the second generation of many local families.
We are very proud of the commitment, dedication and retention of our highly qualified and experienced staff team. As well as the staff, we have a dedicated group of parents who form the Scamps Board.
